Adjustments to the calendar were made in 1751 and 1752, 1753 being thefirst year which conformed to the modern calendar. Until 1752 theofficial start of the year was the 25th March, not 1st January. The year1751 began on the 25 Mar 1751 and 1752 on the following 1st January. Theyear 1751 was therefore only about 8 months long. (Scotland had adoptedthe 1st January as the year start in 1600, before England and Scotlandwere united).

The following haven't been verified, but it seems probable that theyarethe family and desc of Edward Coxon m. Elizabeth Temperley 1 Nov 1705:

There was (generation 1) an Edward COXAN baptised March 31st.1706atSt.John Lee. Father: Edward of Fallowfield.

Then (generation 2) there were three children baptised to an EdwardofLeadworks with familiar names, Edward 1738; Elizabeth 1740 & Ann1744.There was another Edward around at the time, who married a JaneProud,but his father was a Jasper.

Although the records are sometimes difficult to read, the name spellingfor Temperley has stayed very much the same, sometimes spelledTemperly,with some exceptions.
